Dust off your leather jackets and polish that chrome—it’s time to go back in time! The 38th annual Lost in the ’50s weekend is officially taking over Sandpoint, Idaho, from May 14th to May 16th, 2026.

If you’ve never experienced it, this isn’t just a car show; it’s a full-throttle celebration of rock ‘n’ roll, vintage style, and the legendary community spirit of North Idaho. Here is everything you need to know to make the most of this year’s nostalgic weekend.

The 2025 Lineup: What’s Happening?

Thursday, May 14: The Kickoff

The festivities start at Connie’s Café for the annual Welcome Party (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM). Expect live music, a bustling beer garden, and the first wave of classic cars rolling into town. It’s the perfect time to grab a drink and reconnect with fellow enthusiasts before the big crowds arrive.

Friday, May 15: The Great Parade & Street Party

Friday is when the engines really roar.

  • Cars & Coffee (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM): Start your morning at the Idaho Club for coffee, donuts, and an up-close look at the early arrivals.
  • The Main Event (6:00 PM): The legendary Classic Car Parade cruises through downtown Sandpoint. Find a spot on the curb early—the streets will be lined with thousands of fans cheering on hundreds of pristine vintage rides.
  • Street Party & Concert: Immediately following the parade, the downtown area transforms into a massive street dance. If you’re looking for more, head to the Bonner County Fairgrounds for a “reunion night” concert featuring Rocky and the Rollers!

Saturday, May 16: Chubby Checker & The Wild Cats

  • The Car Show (All Day): Downtown Sandpoint becomes an open-air museum. First, Second, and Third Avenues will be packed with over 600 classic and custom vehicles restored to their former glory.
  • Special Guest: Keep an eye out for Dennis Gage, host of My Classic Car, who will be filming and mingling with the crowds all weekend!
  • Saturday Night Concert: Wrap up the weekend with a bang at the Fairgrounds. The “Twist” king himself, Chubby Checker, will be taking the stage for an unforgettable night of old-school rock ‘n’ roll.

Tips for Travelers

  • Parking: Downtown fills up fast on Saturday morning. Plan to arrive early (car show check-in starts at 6:30 AM!) or use local shuttle options if available.
  • Dress the Part: You’ll see plenty of poodle skirts, cuffed jeans, and grease-lightning hair. Don’t be afraid to lean into the theme!
  • Checkered Flag Businesses: Look for local shops and restaurants flying the checkered flag—they often offer special deals and discounts to event-goers.

Why We Love It

Lost in the ’50s is more than just a weekend of shiny paint jobs. It’s a bridge between generations, where grandparents show their grandkids the cars they grew up with, and the whole town of Sandpoint comes alive with the sounds of a simpler time.

Whether you’re a die-hard gearhead or just here for the music and the atmosphere, we’ll see you on the streets!
